SHIFT Technology

The SPECTRALIS SHIFT Technology lets you easily switch OCT scan speeds to find optimal balance between image quality and workflow, giving clinicians and operators the flexibility to deliver precise, individualized patient care.

Choose the speed you need with SHIFT technology

The SPECTRALIS SHIFT technology enables adaptation to the unique needs of the patient and clinic workflow by offering changeable OCT scan speeds. Use 20 kHz for maximum detail in eyes that are challenging to image, 85 kHz for optimal balance of speed and image quality, and 125 kHz for rapid scanning in time-sensitive or high-volume settings.

BluePeak Module

The SPECTRALIS BluePeak Module is a non-invasive scanning laser fundus imaging modality that provides a map of the retina which can reveal metabolic malfunction of diagnostic significance in many conditions such as AMD.

Blue laser autofluorescence imaging

The SPECTRALIS BluePeak Module autofluorescence reveals metabolic stress in the retina using lipofuscin as an indicator. BluePeak images can reveal RPE and photoreceptor cell malfunctions, offering diagnostic insights into retinal conditions such as AMD and hereditary diseases.

By combining the segmentation of retinal layers in OCT with the metabolic mapping of BluePeak autofluorescence, morphologic alterations associated with functional change can be seen more clearly. With the RegionFinder software, diseased areas seen in BluePeak images can be quantified and followed over time.

MultiColor Module

The SPECTRALIS MultiColor Module is an innovative technology for fundus imaging offering structural detail and clarity not available from traditional fundus photography.

Multi-spectral fundus imaging

The SPECTRALIS MultiColor Module uses three simultaneous laser wavelengths to capture monochromatic cSLO fundus images and a combined MultiColor image, revealing retinal details not visible with conventional fundus photography. The varying penetration of each wavelength, together with OCT imaging, provides structural detail that helps pinpoint pathology and identify affected retinal layers. MultiColor enhances diagnostics when paired with other imaging modalities and enables fast acquisition of sharp cSLO fundus images with simultaneous OCT in one shot, streamlining your workflow.

Glaucoma Module Premium Edition

The Glaucoma Module Premium Edition provides a comprehensive, personalized analysis of the optic nerve head and ganglion cell complex by precisely aligning unique scan patterns to the fine anatomic structures relevant to glaucoma diagnostics.

"It is our ethical obligation to use the highest quality imaging and diagnostic tools to benefit our patients."

"We have an ethical obligation to all of our patients to catch disease before the patient suffers any noticeable effects. It is critical to have the same image, captured at the highest quality, at every visit to discern the smallest level of change over time. This is why I use the SPECTRALIS platform with TruTrack Active Eye Tracking. We know how much of a burden advanced glaucoma has on the quality of life of our patients. An earlier diagnosis leads to earlier treatment. It is our ethical obligation to use the highest quality imaging and diagnostic tools to benefit our patients. We owe it to them."

Nsite Analytics Module

The SPECTRALIS Nsite Analytics Module is specifically tailored to monitor retinal changes in patients with optic neuropathies and neurodegenerative processes including Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension, and Alzheimer's Disease.

The window to the brain – Gain new insights into neurodegeneration

The SPECTRALIS Nsite Analytics Module provides a window into the brain by measuring neuronal and axonal projection within the retina from the central nervous system (CNS), allowing monitoring of retinal changes in optic neuropathies and neurodegenerative processes.  Nsite offers peripapillary RNFL analysis - of the unique tissue of the CNS with a color-coded classification in the reference database indicating c axonal loss and edematous changes. Macular ganglion cell layer thickness measurements help determine if macular changes relate to retinal ganglion cells.

OCT Angiography Module

The SPECTRALIS OCT Angiography Module enables non-invasive imaging for a three-dimensional depiction of retinal vascular flow with versatility in the field of view, scan speed (powered by SHIFT technology), and image resolution.

Anterior Segment Module

The SPECTRALIS Anterior Segment Module enables non-invasive, high-resolution OCT imaging of the cornea, sclera, and anterior chamber angles.

High-resolution anterior segment imaging

The high-resolution images obtained with the SPECTRALIS Anterior Segment Module show the layers of the cornea in detail and aid in the assessment of corneal thickness. The module also offers angle-to-angle imaging for efficient anterior chamber angle evaluation as well as detailed images of scleral structures.

Widefield Imaging Module

The SPECTRALIS Widefield Imaging Module provides the standard field of view of a mydriatic fundus camera for all SPECTRALIS® fundus and retinal OCT imaging modalities, simplifying diagnostic protocols and facilitating detection of peripheral pathology.

Expand your field of view

The SPECTRALIS Widefield Imaging Module provides a 55-degree field of view for all fundus imaging modalities including MultiColor, BluePeak, infrared reflectance, angiography, and OCT. Capturing the macula, the optic nerve head and areas beyond the vessel arcades in a single image, the Widefield Imaging Module facilitates comprehensive diagnostics. The high-resolution, high-contrast scanning laser images captured with the Widefield Imaging Module offer diagnostic capabilities beyond those of conventional fundus photography.

Ultra-Widefield Imaging Module

The SPECTRALIS Ultra-Widefield Imaging Module delivers evenly illuminated, high-contrast scanning laser angiography images from the macula through the periphery.

Images from the macula through the periphery

The SPECTRALIS Ultra-Widefield Imaging Module captures an extremely wide field of view (102°) in one shot. It offers evenly illuminated, high-contrast images even in the periphery. The module is compatible with SPECTRALIS scanning laser angiography, including fluorescein and ICG angiography, that can be acquired both individually and simultaneously.

High Magnification Module

The SPECTRALIS High Magnification Module enables non-invasive, high-resolution cSLO imaging and visualization of previously imperceptible retinal microstructures.

Enhanced resolution of retinal microstructures

The SPECTRALIS High Magnification Module consists of an innovative magnifying lens and software that supports  analysis of ocular microstructures. It elegantly demonstrates the capability of confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscopy (cSLO) to resolve ocular microstructures by reducing intraocular light scattering. The image contrast and clarity obtained with cSLO highlights critical diagnostic details that are often not visible using fundoscopy or fundus photography. The possibility to investigate a region of interest in enhanced resolution and detail may provide unique insight into the progression of certain retinal diseases.

Scanning Laser Angiography

High resolution FA and ICGA imaging

Scanning Laser Angiography

The scanning laser angiography can be conducted with either fluorescein or indocyanine green (ICG) dye. Both modes produce detailed, high-resolution images and video sequences that show vessel filling, flow, and leakage. For workflow efficiency and diagnostic precision, FA and ICGA can be acquired simultaneously and in combination with OCT imaging.

The optional SPECTRALIS Ultra-Widefield Angiography Module delivers scanning laser angiography images from the macula to the periphery for more comprehensive retinal examinations.
