Wide Field Imaging

Widescreen for the Retina

The SPECTRALIS® system offers four wide field imaging options to broaden your view of the retina in order to manage disease beyond the macula. With these tools, clinicians can see more, diagnose more confidently, and make more informed treatment decisions.

Wide field “Painting” with ART™ Software

Possible only with SPECTRALIS TruTrack™ active eye tracking, the ART software allows the operator to “paint” an image as the camera head pans around the retina. The resulting high resolution, wide field image can extend out 120˚ into the retinal periphery.

55˚ Non-contact Lens

This optional, non-contact lens can expand the field of view to 55˚. Simply twist off the bayonet-mounted 30˚ lens and replace it with the 55˚ lens. With the 55˚ lens attached, the SPECTRALIS can also be set at 35˚ or 25˚ eliminating lens changes in a busy practice setting.

Staurenghi 150˚ Contact Lens

The optional Staurenghi Lens is a contact lens which offers a 150˚ image area. With this lens, the SPECTRALIS system provides a dramatic ultra-wide field view of the retina.

60˚ x 60˚ Automatic Montage

In the automatic montage mode, the SPECTRALIS system captures a nine-image sequence by moving the internal fixation light through a pre-set pattern. The software automatically aligns and assembles the images without the aid of “post process” editing by a technician. The result is a 60˚ by 60˚ montage view in a matter of seconds.
