3D Imaging

See the Retina from a Different Perspective

The three-dimensional OCT tool takes a block or “volume scan” of OCT data and renders it in 3D. This allows the clinician to appreciate the 3D nature of retinal structures and to view abnormalities at different angles. With this view, clinicians can also study the contours of the surface of the retina for unusual variations.

Three-dimensional views are also useful for looking at correlations between the fundus and OCT images. Powered by TruTrack™ active eye tracking, the SPECTRALIS® system captures the fundus and OCT images simultaneously and provides point-to-point correlation between fundus OCT images. This potent technological combination provides detailed images that allow clinicians to better locate abnormalities within the retinal layers.
