HRC – Heidelberg Retina Camera
The HRC is a scanning digital ophthalmoscope with Scanning Slit Technology
The retina is illuminated by a narrow slit, and the reflected images are recorded line-by-line by a video-camera with a scan rate of 50 Hz. The HRC uses a halogen illumination with a light intensity similar to clinical slit-lamp examination and requires no flash. The slit scanning technology of the HRC provides high image quality by suppressing scattered and reflected light even in eyes with hazy media.
