The Heidelberg Retina Camera (HRC) is a compact and multicite functional fundus camera that utilizes innovative scanning slit technology.

The Modular Concept

The HRC is available as:

  • HRC Color system for color, red-free and infrared imaging
  • HRC Color+FA system for color, red-free, infrared imaging as well as fluorescein angiography

Color Imaging

For reliable fundus assessment modern practices require a variety of imaging modes including color fundus photography. The HRC provides mydriatic and non-mydriatic color images at a standard 50 degree field of view. For optic nerve head imaging a 25 degree lens is available.

Fluorescein Angiography

The HRC’s scanning technology allows rapid real time image acquisition. The camera is easy to use as it stays in focus independent of the distance to the patient. Fluorescein angiograms, taken in the single or movie mode, enable detection and monitoring of retinal diseases e.g. age related Macular Degeneration (AMD), Diabetic Retinopathy (DR).

Anterior Segment Imaging

Anterior segment and anterior chamber imaging for cornea, iris and sclera.

Single/Movie Option

Images are rapidly acquired in single or movie sequences in either color or angiography modes.

Add Function not Space to your Office

Like all devices from Heidelberg Engineering the HRC uses the Heidelberg Eye Explorer (HEYEX) software to acquire, analyze and view patient data. The patient and work flow can be optimized by utilizing review stations in a network environment.

To safe space and money the HRC can be operated from the same PC as a Spectralis or a HRT. Patient data has to be entered only once expediting the imaging process. The HRC can also be attached to a slit lamp to form a compact digital lane unit.
