			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>JOB SUMMARY:</strong>The Field Application Support Manager supervises the field application specialists, providing installation and training services for HEI customers. The manager will create, lead and motivate a team of knowledgeable and professional specialists who can instruct customers on the optimal use of HEI instruments. The manager will collect and summarize field experience to feedback to relevant company functions such as service, marketing, R&amp;D and other support functions. The manager is responsible for ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction with the order fulfillment process, especially the receipt and training of instruments and software.</p>
<p><strong>JOB TITLE:</strong>         Manager, Field Application Support<br />
<strong>DEPARTMENT:</strong>  Field Applications Support<br />
<strong>REPORTS TO:</strong>    Vice President Sales<br />
<strong>SUPERVISES:</strong>      Field Applications Specialists<br />
<strong>FLSA STATUS:</strong>   Exempt</p>
<p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Lead and manage the Field Applications Specialist Team</li>
<li>Ensure that the application specialists are a well-trained and professional team, offering clear and consistent methods of effectively training customers on the use of company products.</li>
<li>Coordinate with other functions (order processing, distribution, etc.) to be sure application specialists are efficiently scheduled to meet customer expectations and minimize customer inconveniences.</li>
<li>Review and assess the performance of application specialists on an on-going basis and to check customer feedback on performance.</li>
<li>Coach application specialists to improve their skills and maintain skills at the highest levels.</li>
<li>Create and regularly review installation and training protocols with all stakeholders to be sure company objectives are being achieved.</li>
<li>Help to create training materials for specialists and other users of HEI instrumentation.</li>
<li>Conduct annual performance reviews Prepare budgets and be responsible for annual department expenses.</li>
<li>Review and approve expense reports.</li>
<li>Oversee the training of new application specialist personnel.</li>
<li>Have knowledge of the sales process and support the sales organization secondary to installation and training.</li>
<li>Assist in the design and creation of customer training materials including print, video and web media.</li>
<li>Participate in professional organizations such as OPS, JCAHPO, etc.</li>
<li>Submit required reports in a timely manner</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>College degree in life sciences, nursing or optometry</li>
<li>Professional certification or advanced degree highly desirable</li>
<li>Experience in professional education</li>
<li>Supervisory experience</li>
<li>6-10 years work experience in ophthalmic products</li>
<li>3+ years of management experience in an ophthalmic clinic environment</li>
<li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, competitive environment</li>
<li>Excellent presentation and communications skills</li>
<li>Good computer skills, knowledge and understanding of computer databases</li>
<li>Familiarity and understanding of Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>SPECIAL DEMANDS:</strong>(If any, describes physically uncomfortable conditions, travel requirements, heavy lifting, etc., ref. ADA)</p>

<p>Willing to travel over weekends and holidays, travel up to 70%, lifting equipment up to 50 lbs, manual dexterity.</p>
